What better way to kick off the spring season last week then the sights and sounds of beautiful music, great food, and good drink surrounded by blooming fresh flowers and ideas, I couldn’t think of any better way to spend it then attending the Niagara College 40^th anniversary “In Your Backyard“ event.

As first time goers we were very pleasantly surprised to have walked into more then expected. As a  lover of the beauty of anything horticultural we weren’t expecting a reptile and bird of prey demonstrations, wine tasting (in which we purchased a wonderful tasting Niagara College Sauvignon Blanc that will now become our wine store of choice with future purchases), wonderful culinary displays for entertainment ideas with great college cooking for sale.

Along with the theme of the beginning of spring, included hair and makeup demonstrations, home improvement project ideas, ways to go green in your home, garden and everyday life and much more…

Many great vendors with their beautiful displays surrounded the auditorium as people sat and enjoyed food, scenery and guest speakers along with guitarist James Gizzie that graced the event with beautiful music.

 

Next year when you’re thinking of something to kick off the spring feeling …no need to go far …just spend the day …”In Your Backyard”
