Part of Niagara Skyline during Earth hour and before Earth hour began

What a great feeling, sharing a common ground throughout the world. It’s something we can all take part in and feel good about yet why didn’t more businesses in the area take part? My husband and I decided to spend the hour in Niagara Falls since we just moved to the Niagara region after travelling Ontario for the 2008 year; we have always loved visiting Niagara when we lived elsewhere in Ontario so when it was time to settle and launch our business full force we decided to set up shop here. One of the places Ontario plays Hostess with the Mostess to our neighbours when they cross over to visit.

I must say, I was quite disappointed during Earth Hour. So many businesses in Niagara Falls didn’t even attempt to help in the conservation of Earth Hour. Those businesses that did I took pictures in recognition of their participation, I also took photos of those businesses deciding not to partake. (although I haven’t posted those yet)
A city of lights, a city with midways, a city that bases itself on powering up, a city with beautiful, precious and delicate horticultural pride yet lights on Clifton Hill were certainly to bright during this time.
I’m hoping to partake in a Niagara region outcry for 2010 this to be changed and more businesses decide to make an Ontario statement, a Canadian statement and a world statement—We care.

For those businesses that shut down for the hour, kudos to you…it will be those businesses that will certainly have me as a patron for their dedication to share a common ground and make the statement you care.
